FAQ

Any student enrolled in a full-time degree at the University of Oxford, including those who are just finishing their final year.

Either! We get a good mix of both.

If you apply with your own idea, either as an individual or a team, we’d ask you to be open to others working with you. If you are applying as a team, you should already have an idea you’ve started working on.

We usually have about 40 participants divided into teams of 3 or more.

You should commit to being in Oxford and focusing full-time on your idea for the eight weeks. You’ll get workspace at Oxford Edge in the city centre and would spend your time there.

A £2,000 bursary, an accelerator built for momentum, interactive workshops, bespoke mentorship, workspace at Oxford Edge, and, if you’re not starting your own idea, access to curated research-driven projects from Oxford University Innovation.

No, all you need is commitment and curiosity.

Each year we curate a new set of research-driven projects from Oxford University Innovation’s portfolio. They span a wide range of disciplines, so you can choose something that fits your interests. For examples of past projects, see the cohort section.

We think projects that involve physically making something are great! Oxford Edge has a small prototyping space, but occasionally a team might need a studio, fab, or wetlab. We will work with such teams to see what is possible.

We can’t, but your college might be able to and you should first ask them. The bursary should cover your living costs and we recommend securing accommodation as soon as possible.
